ABOUT US

African Institute for Leadership and Good Governance (AILGG) is a professional and educational institute established in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 as Limited by Guarantee with approval from relevant authorities including the Federal Ministry of Education. The institute is a membership driven and research and training institution focusing on Public policy in Africa and promoting the Art and Science of Leadership, Public and Business resources management, Strategic management and Good Governance. The institute   aims to promote good governance through enhancing the region’s capacity for effective Public policy, Corporate and Good governance. We are established with the aim of building individual and institutional capacity that promote true leadership and governance for common good throughout the continent. 

The institute’s major activities are focused on mobilizing quality leaders and enhancing members’ capacity, building the capacity of other individuals and institutions for effective and qualitative governance, developing young and emerging leaders, supporting women and fostering prosperous society.

To increase the number and standard of qualitative leadership with high level of proficiency and ethics while helping institutions improve their own governance. 

OUR OBJECTIVES

African Institute for Leadership and Good Governance (AILGG) is devoted to creating an ever-growing and vibrant community of exceptional leaders, new and current leaders, social entrepreneurs, faculty, and researchers. We are committed to equipping people with the theoretical understanding and the practical skills and insight they need to tackle the enormous challenges that face us at all levels of society. 

The institute is therefore committed to supporting better governance practice through its works, publications, events, board development, workshops and programmes and services. AILGG has two main tasks, firstly to aid individuals develop leadership capacity and to support individual organizations improve their governance and secondly to move governance thinking forward.
